Three-year-old Normfliegerin was one of two fillies taking on the boys in the 137th running of the German St. Leger at Dortmund racecourse today, and the eight-placed of this year's German Oaks showed an excellent performance. The Adlerflug filly out of North Mum from the highly successful family of Wittekindshof's top mare Nona delivered a strong run in the €50.000 G3 contest, and even though she may have had nothing to do with the win, she fought gamely for third place behind a strong winner and runner-up to book her first placing at group level after 2800 metres. Bauyrzhan Murzabayev was in the saddle for trainer Peter Schiergen.
